Why is Dr. Lisa advocating for true informed consent in health care?
Hello, Wellness Enthusiasts,
Most informed consent in health care acknowledges the risks and benefits of drug approaches, surgical treatments and other types of therapy.
When a health care consumer gives consent, it is generally not a fully informed consent. People make decisions in haste especially in a health crisis. This is why natural health for prevention and a healthy life style matters.
Health care specialists are very narrowly focused and do not have the time to inform someone on other health care approaches that are not within his/her scope of practice. This requires the consumer, you, to be an information gatherer, questioner, and someone who seeks out multiple opinions so the best decision is made.
In my own experience watching people heal well and others heal poorly, the level of information seeking made the difference.
Health care consumers also follow dangerous health myths that have been ingrained through social conditioning. When someone clings to these myths, health is lost.
This passion of mine began for me as a mental health therapist before I became a doctor of chiropractic. Read more of my story here.
This information is crucial and needs to be shared before someone is in a health crisis.
It is my goal to help people regain and maintain their health through:
True Informed Consent
Education on Wellness
Health Freedom / Freedom to choose health care options
Support through difficult decisions because negative social conditioning is very strong in our society
